- About Erika -
Erika is an avid dressage competitor with a love of photography. She is especially fascinated with all equestrian photography and self-portraits, but will shoot anything that catches her eye. Erika has been classically trained in Black & White photography, working to develop film and prints in the darkroom with a multitude of cameras including a homemade pinhole, a large format, and a 35mm. Erika is also well versed in the world of digital, being proficient in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom. As a high school student, she saved all of her pennies to purchase a DSLR camera.
Erika is currently a student at Rutgers University majoring in Public Health and minoring in Spanish. She has competed dressage through Prix St. Georges and is based out of Lebanon, NJ. Her and her brother backed their horse, Mac, who is now 6 years old and competing successfully at 1st level dressage with Erika and Preliminary level eventing with her brother. Due to her experience in the horse world, she has an eye for capturing the moment.
Erika's photographic work has been hung and won awards in multiple art exhibits, published in a book entitled 'Dreamland: Illusions of Coney Island', published in articles for EventingNation.com and USEA's Eventing USA magazine, published as the cover photo of Country Folks Mane Stream, as well as in sale horse advertisements.
